Eyeclops Stealth Goggles – Now Kids Can Play In The Dark

Once kids lose that fear of the darkness they long to play on as night itme approaches and even like playing at night. It must seem like a whole new world to discover to new eyes, and in reality it is. All kinds of critters venture out at night when the world is in darkness and do quirky (like tipping the garbage over !). However the main drawback of playing at night and in the dark is that the eyes aren’t up to it. We can’t see in the dark and this hampers any chances of playing at night time to any degree. Well now that could all be a thing of the past with the new Stealth goggles and binoculars.

Stealth goggles, referred to as version 1 and stealth binoculars, known as version 2 go by the name EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles and are made by Jakks. They are made for children 8 and up for playing games at night time or in the dark.

They use the same technology as the proper night vision gear you might expect the military to use – namely infrared frequency light to illuminate the night. This produces a fairly good picture of what is going on around you, in green or black and white images.

The goggles are referred to as stealth because there are two modes. The first mode is the stealth mode that allows totally covert operations. This means that the goggles give off no visible light or sound to give the wearer way.

The 2nd mode, called the surveillance mode, affords a longer range, (apparently 50 feet at the upper limits) but it gives off a red light. If you are under some dense scrub or bushes then this might be a big problem but it is not as stealthy or covert as the first mode.

Version 1 is a genuine set of full face goggles with rubber straps attaching to the back. They are comfortable and fit the face snuggly. The goggles have a soft rubber front that molds to the shape of the persons face so that no light can escape out. There are caps over the eyepieces too, such that you can flip them up or down and see in infrared or use your normal night time vision. So this means you will never have to take off the goggles unless you desire to.

The binoculars afford more flexibility so that you can switch between infrared vision and normal night time vision just by dropping the binoculars, but this pre-supposes that you use your hands to operate them. This could cause people to lose interest in the binoculars if they need hands free night vision abilities.

Both would make a great gift at Christmas, especially for boys, but do take care as they are not made for use when running around at night. If goggles don’t sound like you, then how about some eyeclops nightvision binoculars instead.
