Disk Encryption Software Overview

<<<... https://www.steganos.com/en/products/sss2006/ I have 4 encrypted files (Security Safes) the size of 4-4.3GBs in size which need opened with a 128bit password after booting up to Windows (latest version can do 256bit). Once you have opened the Security safes, they appear in My Computer as 4 separate virtual hard drives with drive letters such as W:, X:, Y: and Z:. I choose the 4GB size for easy backup onto DVDs. You may want to point your My Documents folder to an encrypted drive so that anything stored there is also encrypted.
2. PGP Encryption Software: (Paid Versions only!) PGP technology is now available for full disk encryption, reducing the need for multiple security vendors and simplifying security for end users. Now a single PGP key provides access to an entire suite of security solutions. PGP Corporation is the only vendor to offer both full disk (PGP Whole Disk Encryption*) and volume disk (PGP Virtual Disk) solutions to meet all the data storage and secure data backup needs of global enterprises.
3. FREE, open-source TrueCrypt for Windows XP/2000/2003 and Linux This is the only FREE encryption program that I know of that encrypts the whole hard drive at the AES-256 standards and works with Windows and Linux. It supports many differen encryption techniques and is the first software a user should check out.

* Encrypts an entire hard disk partition or a storage device such as USB flash drive.
* Encryption is automatic, real-time (on-the-fly) and transparent.
* Provides two levels of plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password (Hidden volume and unidentifyable) ... more>>>
